Being Emirati: Gamifying Emirati Tradition Education and Good Citizenship

Digital San’a revolutionizes the way Emirati heritage, values, and traditions are taught to school children through an innovative, gamified platform. By transforming the conventional paper-based learning methods into a dynamic and engaging digital experience, Digital San’a uses elements like points, badges, and leaderboards to not only educate but also instill pro-social behavior in students. This interactive approach addresses the market need for a more captivating and sustainable method of teaching cultural values, particularly in a generation that is increasingly tech-savvy.

Currently, Digital San’a has moved from concept to a functional prototype, with plans for pilot testing at Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Awal School. This initial deployment aims to refine the platform based on real-world feedback, ensuring that it effectively engages students and enhances their appreciation of Emirati culture. The project has already seen positive preliminary feedback from parents and is designed to be scalable, with potential for adoption across various educational settings. This initiative not only promises to preserve Emirati culture among younger generations but also transforms heritage education into an enjoyable and impactful experience.
